Kazakhstan exported 1.65 million tonnes of grain last year

 

 

Kazakhstan exported 1.56 million tonnes of grain since the beginning of the current marketing year July 1 to Feb. 28, compared with 1.86 million tonnes in the corresponding period in the previous marketing year, the agriculture ministry said in a statement on Friday.

 

Exports in February totalled 161,100 tonnes, compared with 386,600 tonnes in February 2004.

 

In February, 124,600 tonnes was exported to Commonwealth of Independent States members, including Russia with 82,400 tonnes, Tajikistan 10,000 tonnes, Belarus 10,000 tonnes, Azerbaijan 7,600 tonnes, Uzbekistan 6,400 tonnes, Kyrgyzstan 4,700 tonnes, Georgia 2,000 tonnes and Moldova 1,500 tonnes.

 

Export to countries outside the CIS in February was 36,500 tonnes, including Turkey 14,000 tonnes, Poland, 7,800 tonnes, Afghanistan 7,200 tonnes, Italy 3,600 tonnes, Norway 2,900 tonnes and Finland 1,000 tonnes.
