Philippines bags US$6.5 million deals in Boston seafood fair

 

 

The Philippines' agriculture department reported yesterday that the country sealed close to US$6.5 million worth of deals at the International Boston Seafood Show last week.

 

The International Boston Seafood Show, considered as the largest seafood exhibition in North America, attracts close to 18,000 buyers and sellers worldwide.

 

Philippines' export deals included tuna, octopus, bangus, and value-added seafood products like fish ham and sausages.

 

Arthur Yap, agricultural secretary, said that the Filipino exporters who joined the fair not only met buyers but also learned new products and technology and other issues relevant to the business.

 

Local exporters that participated include Bluefin Seafood Export, Inc., JNMercado Seafood Supply, Anio Farms and Fisher Farm.
