Danish feed producer buys up customer
Danish fish feed producer BioMar Holding is expanding its stake in the Norwegian fish farming company Sjotroll Havbruk AS from its current 37.2 percent to 50.9 percent, giving it control of the company.
BioMar Holding is acquiring the additional 13.7 percent stake from North Sea Invest AS.
Sjotroll Havbruk is one of Norway's five largest fish farming companies and one of BioMar Holding's largest customers. The company produces 10 million salmonids a year, holds 26 salmon and trout farming licences, and operates a processing factory.
The company last year had revenues of NOK726 million (EUR 88.8 million) and a profit of NOK214 million (EUR 26.2 million).
BioMar Holding is a global supplier to the salmon, trout, seabass and seabream farming industries. The company has 500 employees and annual revenues of over DKK3bn (EUR 403 million).
