Consumption of poultry products in India picking up

Poultry farm company Venkys India Ltd said Friday (Mar 3) that prices of chickens and eggs, which fell following an outbreak of bird flu among chickens in the western Maharashtra state last month, are likely to improve gradually.

Venkys said consumption of chicken has "started picking up," which is likely to improve prices.

However, the company said its performance for the quarter ending March 31 will be affected due to a steep fall in chicken and egg prices in various parts of the country. It did not provide a specific forecast.
