Viterra invests US$1 million in CIGI's promotion of Canadian crops

Viterra is investing US$1 million to support the Canadian International Grains Institute's (CIGI) ongoing efforts to promote Canadian field crops to customers in domestic and international markets and as a result of this partnership, CIGI's main classroom will be renamed the "Viterra Knowledge Centre".

"CIGI has an excellent international reputation for delivering customised training programmes and technical expertise to farmers and end users. Their work has helped to enhance Canada's position as a reliable supplier of safe and high quality grains, oilseeds and pulses," said Kyle Jeworski, Viterra's president and chief executive officer for North America. "Viterra and CIGI have a longstanding and rewarding relationship, and we are pleased to forge this official partnership that will continue to benefit our stakeholders and support our industry in an evolving global marketplace."

"This is a milestone day for CIGI," said Earl Geddes, CIGI chief executive officer. "It marks the first time in the new marketing era that an industry partner has made such a significant financial contribution in support of our work and mission to create a global advantage for Canadian field crops. Not only does this US$1 million investment symbolise Viterra's leadership in Canada's grain industry, it shows their commitment to a vision that will see CIGI build and grow its efforts to serve the domestic industry and international customers."
