China to start rapeseed, rapeseed meal futures trading
China is arranging to begin trading of rapeseed and rapeseed meal futures contracts, the official Shanghai Securities News reported Friday (Mar 2).
A futures exchange is studying the market for rapeseed and rapeseed meal, the newspaper reported, citing unnamed sources, without specifying which exchange or a timeframe.
The Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange already offers trading in rapeseed oil futures.
This year, each of China's four futures exchanges is expected to add two new futures contracts, the newspaper said. New contracts will include government debt, silver glass, rapeseed and rapeseed meal, it said, without elaborating.
Currently, the China Financial Futures Exchange offers trading in stock-index futures, the Shanghai Futures Exchange offers metals futures and the Dalian Commodity Exchange and Zhengzhou exchange offer futures contracts on agricultural and chemical commodities.
