Norwegian seafood exports hit record in February

 

 

The export of seafood from Norway reached a new record in February, with an export value for the month of NOK4.2 billion (US$709.06 million), up NOK650 million (US$109.73 million) or 18.5% as compared to the same month last year.

 

According to latest figures from the Export Council for Fish (EFF), seafood export also set a new record for the first two months of the year, with a value of NOK7.7 billion (US$1.3 billion), up NOK831 million (US$140.3 million) or 12% against the first two months of 2009.

 

Meanwhile, the main reason for the increase in seafood exports is an increase in the export of salmon, according to reports.
