Kemin's Second European Meeting to touch on amino acid balancing

Kemin Industries Inc.'s Second European Meeting aims to extend scientific knowledge and showing practical economic benefits achieved from amino acids.

The invite-only event, which will take place in six countries in April, is held in collaboration with Professor Charles Schwab from the US University of New Hampshire.

Producers in the US and Europe are increasingly using the concept of balancing diets for amino acids, as measured by sales of protected methionine. The rate of implementation is largely related to differences in milk prices and feed costs; implementation is slowest when feed costs are high and milk price is low.

However, Schwab's experiences said that balancing for amino acids could attain long-term benefits, even when milk prices are at their lowest.

Schwab is widely recognised for his research on amino acid nutrition of dairy cattle, and he has made over 100 presentations on the application of amino acid and protein nutrition for milk production.

Kemin Industries is a nutritional ingredient manufacturer committed to improving the health and nutrition of the world with functional products that deliver maximum efficacy.
