Israel To Resume Beef Imports
Israel have decided to resume livestock imports after temporarily suspending it in February following an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in the country.
Since then, authorities imposed a restriction on livestock imports, requiring stock to be fully vaccinated against FMD. The restriction applied to all countries - including FMD free countries such as Australia.
Australia exported 43,213 cattle and 116,409 sheep to Israel in 2003, worth A$30.8 million FOB.
