Mongolia resumes dairy cow imports from China
Mongolia has resumed imports of dairy cows from China, which was suspended for about two months after an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, China's top quality regulator said Tuesday (Mar 3).
The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said 50 cows were tested safe and entered Mongolia via an Inner Mongolia city, Erenhot.
The Mongolian government suspended imports at the end of 2008, after foot-and-mouth disease type Asia-1 was detected in China's north-western Gansu Province.
