Lacklustre demand softens China calcium phosphate prices
Prices were lower during the period in review.
Feed millers continued to withhold purchases while H7N9 bird flu outbreak showed no signs of subsiding. With prices weak and the cost of sulphur high, producers of calcium phosphate producers were operating at low profit levels.
In Sichuan, transacted prices were in the range of RMB1,750-1,800/tonne.
Demand for calcium phosphate is therefore poised to remain slack in the coming weeks.
