Kazakhstan exports 4.8 million tonnes of grain from 2009 harvest

To date, Kazakhstan has exported 4.8 million tonnes of grains from the 2009 harvest, an increase of one million tonnes compared to the previous year volumes.

Kazakhstan exported grains to Iran and Afghanistan, said Agriculture Minister Akylbek Kurishbaev.

According to the minister, sea ports of the Baltic and Black Seas are currently closed for Kazakh exports, due to large scale export volumes of agricultural crops from Russia and Ukraine.
