Vietnamese animal feed prices rise amid lower global prices
Prices of raw animal feed materials remain high in Vietnam despite sharp price decreases on the global market.
Among these materials, prices of cassava slices and corn have soared by 2.6% and 3%, respectively, which made prices of animal feed up 2-3%.
Local traders said they cannot reduce prices of animal feed products as the imports of raw materials cost them very expensive.
Meanwhile, breeders have moaned recent hikes in prices of cattle feeds, saying that they had suffered heavy financial losses because of higher feed costs as well as lower meat prices.
Chicken raisers in southeastern Vietnam are selling at VND13,000-14,000 per kg, some VND8,000/kg lower than production costs.
