Brazil to supply beef to China for the Olympics
Brazilian prime beef cuts including fillet mignon and top sirloin will be shipped to China starting April for the Beijing Olympics, the Brazilian Meat Monitor reported.
Brazil's exporters association (ABIEC) said the cuts will be supplied to restaurants. ABIEC president further stated that the deal could become permanent, similar to Egypt which used to make one off purchases of Brazilian beef and now is the country's second largest customer.
Currently, Brazilian meat enters China via Hong Kong.
