Denmark shuts down slaughterhouse suspected of FMD infection

The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration has temporarily shut down a slaughterhouse near Copenhagen as one of its pigs under suspicion of foot-and-mouth disease infection.

The pig in question was sent to a slaughterhouse in Ringsted, which was southwest from Copenhagen. It was then discovered to be showing signs of the disease.

The animal and the farm it came from are currently under investigations to confirm whether it is indeed a FMD infection.
