Methionine prices dip amid subdued demand in China

Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending February 29.

Feed millers were reluctant to make purchases as poultry feed demand is expected to be slow due to high broiler releases prior to Chinese New Year. Moreover, egg prices plummeted after the festive holidays, further dampening buyers' confidence. Consequently, even though sellers lowered methionine prices, trade remained limited amid cautious mood.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine slid to the range of RMB30.70-31.50/kg.
