Shanghai Customs District imports 31,000 tonnes milk products

 

 

In January, China's Shanghai Customs District imported 31,000 tonnes of milk products.

 

The amount increased 9.5% on-year and was second only to the highest monthly import volume (in December 2011).

 

Of the total import volume in January, 16,000 tonnes were imported from New Zealand, rising 37.7%. Meanwhile, it took 52.6% of the total, and the proportion hiked 10.8%age points. 7,000 tonnes were imported form the EU, growing 24.8% and taking 22% of the total. The EU has become the second largest milk product source place, as the import volume from the place exceeded that from the US Besides, 4,000 tonnes were imported from the US, slipping 30.3%; 2,000 tonnes from Australia, decreasing 45.2%; 1,000 tonnes from the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), declining 9%; 398 tonnes from Argentine, increasing by 24.7 times.

 

In terms of product sorts, 15,000 tonnes were the import of milk powder, up 16.8%; 6,000 tonnes were the import of whey, down 14.9%; 4,000 tonnes were non-concentrated milk and cream without sugar, growing 1.5 times, and accounting for 13.8% of the total import volume, according to news on February 28.
