Ukraine's agrarians pay nearly US$100 to the society

Ukrainian agrarians allocated UAH800 (US$99.9) from each hectare of cultivated land in Ukraine to the rest of society in the last five years, said Leonid Kozachenko, President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation.

The sum of losses includes losses incurred by farmers due to non-return of the VAT by grain exporters, various bans on exports of agricultural products, regulating of the price for social types of food in the "manual mode". In order to deprive the industry of the role of a social contributor, the country should learn from the experience of civilised nations, and enter the addressed food subsidy of the low-income population in Ukraine, said Kozachenko.

According to him, to date agrarians are facing new threats and risks, which lie in the legislative field. The leader of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation said that the agrarians do not have to perform the social role, but the government has.
