Affecting thousands of pigs, cattle and poultry, animal diseases have been reoccurring in 16 provinces and cities in Vietnam, state media reported.
The bird flu has reoccurred in 13 cities and provinces named Hanoi, Haiphong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Ha Tinh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Ha Nam, Hai Duong, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa and Nam Dinh.
Since the early this year, the bird flu infested over 53,500 fowls nationwide, most of which were duck.
The foot-and-mouth has appeared in four provinces Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh and Ha Giang while Lao Cai province reported the outbreak of blue-ear, infesting 65 pigs in two districts Bao Thang and Bao Yen.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has proposed the government to grant Hai Duong province with 15,000 litres of Han-iodine and Thai Binh 15,000 litres of the disinfection chemical and 100,000 foot-and-mouth vaccine doses to cope with the diseases.
