Ukraine's Nibulon to invest US$3.1 million in agricultural machinery purchase
 

 

In order to purchase and renew its agricultural machinery pool in 2012, Nibulon has plans to invest UAH25 million (US$3.1 million), reads a statement made by the company.

 

"This season the company will conduct a planned renewal of the machinery pool, specifically its repairs. Apart from this, new machines will be procured... On these ends will be spent UAH25 million (US$3.1 million)," it said.

 

Specifically, the company intends to buy six large tractors, 10 light tractors, 13 seed planters, three rearers, a vegetable four-row seed drill and five spraying machines.

 

Nibulon also announces start of a complex of spring field works.

 

The company affiliates in Mykolaiv region are side-dressing winter crops on the frozen-thawed soil in the areas where plant growth showed positive results.

 

For today the company has processed 4,300 hectares, or 50% of the acreage sown with winter crops in this region: winter, barley and rapeseeds.

 

To ensure field works the company has procured 10,880 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, in all they plan to increase fertiliser treatment this year by 30%.

 

The company has also prepared all seed materials: 350 tonnes of corn, 250 tonnes of soy, 60 tonnes of sorghum, and 40 tonnes of sunflowers.

 

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Nibulon increased harvest of agricultural crops by 30% or 100,000 tonnes to 400,000 tonnes in 2011 over 2010.

 

Nibulon is a major producer and exporter of agricultural products in Ukraine. It is also a stevedoring company. The company cultivates 70,000 hectares of land.
