Vietnam's Jan-Feb agricultural exports rise 50.7%
Vietnam reaped US$1.5 billion from agricultural, forestry and seafood product exports in the first two months of the year, raising the total figure to 50.7% against on-year, to US$3.6 billion, stated the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Of the sum, exports of agricultural products increased 57.5% on-year to US$2 billion while shipments of seafood up 54.4% to US$835 million.
Meanwhile, imports of agricultural materials and agro-forestry and seafood products have reached nearly US$2.3 billion in the two months, an increase of 20.3% on-year, the ministry said.
Vietnam, where 80% of the population is living on agricultural production, is expected to earn around US$19 billion from exports of agricultural, forestry and seafood products this year.
