Russia builds 311 animal farms in two years

In the two years that the Russia Agriculture Ministry branch-specific programme has been implemented, farmers have built 311 animal farms, the ministry said.

In 41 Russia constituents, 311 livestock farms for 28.6 cattle have been built and reconstructed. Putting the facilities into operation has allowed creating 1,627 additional jobs, increase milk production by 60,000 tonnes, and dairy cattle by 24,000.

In average, the monthly income per one member of a family farm has totalled RUB25,000-30,000 (US$871.98-$1046.37). According to the amendments made to the programme, farmers did not only build dairy but pig, sheep, poultry, ostrich, horse and goat farms.
