Bangladesh reports four new bird flu cases to OIE

 
 

Bangladeshi veterinary authorities have sent a report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) regarding four new cases of highly pathogenic bird flu (HPAI).

 

All four cases are in the same area of Dhaka, involving one small backyard flock and three commercial farms.

 

In total, 3153 birds were affected, 475 of which died. All the remaining birds were destroyed.

 

The presence of the H5N1 virus sub-type has been confirmed.
