Brazil Soybean Exports Up 140% In February
Brazil's February soybean exports totaled 453,500 metric tons, up 140% from 189,300 tons in the same month last year, according to preliminary figures issued by the government's Foreign Trade Secretariat, or Secex, on Monday.
February shipments were also higher than January's exports of 342,800 tons.
February soymeal exports totaled 790,700 tons, up 24% on the year, but down from the 973,300 tons in January.
In February, Brazil shipped 155,000 tons of soyoil, up from 157% from the 60,200 tons exported in the same month last year and also higher than 137,300 tons exported in January.
Brazil is set to become the world's leading soybean exporter this year.
