UK sees rising cattle prices despite horsemeat scandal
UK prime beef cattle and cow prices continue to climb as the horsemeat scandal has caused retailers to tighten up their supply chains and recall mislabelled products.
According to the National Beef Association (NBA), commercial cattle, such as R4L steers and heifers, offered in England, Scotland and Wales will be selling for a base of up to US$0.56 per deadweight kilogramme this week.
