Ukraine's fish, seafood exports grow 5% in 2010
Ukrainian 2010 fish and seafood exports rose 5% or 3,100 tonnes, compared with 2009 to 63,500 tonnes worth US$65.5 million, a representative of the State fishery agency said.
The volume of export of canned fish rose by 20%. The stake of canned fish in the total volume of export was about 60%. These products are delivered to Russia and Kazakhstan.
Besides canned fish, Ukraine also exports fresh and cooled fish.
Earlier, in December 2009, the Rosselkhoznadzor allowed six of eight inspected Ukrainian fish processing enterprises to deliver fish products to Russia.
