Pakistani seafood exports surge in January
Exports of fish and fish preparations from Pakistan witnessed 11.45% increase during January as compared to exports of December last year.
Fish and fish preparations export during January 2010 were recorded at US$18.36 million as against the exports of US$16.47 million recorded during December 2009, according to data provided by Federal Bureau of Statistics.
However, fish exports during January witnessed decrease of 2.42% as compared to the exports of US$18.81 million recorded during the same week of last year.
The overall fish and fish preparations exports during the first seven months of this financial year witnessed negative growth of 10.01% as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
The seafood exports during July-January 2009-10 were recorded at US$116.150 million as against the exports of US$129.074 million recorded during July-January 2008-09, the figures revealed.
