Turkey cancels grain export tender
The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) said Tuesday (Feb 28) its grain export tender scheduled for that day has been cancelled, as some members of the tender commission cannot be in Turkey because of official visits abroad.
TMO officials said the board will decide the date and conditions of a possible new tender in the coming days.
TMO had invited bids for the export of up to 125,000 tonnes of durum wheat, 100,000 tonnes of white feed barley, 75,000 tonnes of corn and 50,000 tonnes of red milling wheat.
In its previous export tender held Jan 25, TMO sold 20,000 tonnes of red milling wheat at US$125.35 a tonne, 25,000 tonnes of durum wheat at US$177.26/tonne, 100,000 tonnes of white feed barley at a maximum price of US$136/tonne and 95,000 tonnes of corn at a maximum price of US$111/tonne.
