UK wheat export surplus seen 2.91 million tonnes
The UK's exportable wheat surplus for 2004-05 is seen at 2.91 million metric tons, according to UK, the Environment and Rural Affairs in its latest estimate released Monday.
Defra put wheat production in 2004-05 at 15.473 million tons, up from 14.288 million tons in 2003-04.
For total cereals, Defra forecast an exportable surplus of 3.854 million tons, from production of 22.030 million tons.
