As compared with November 2011, Ukraine's December poultry population fell by 4.6% or 9.629 million heads, to 200.344 million heads as of January 1, 2012.
Ukrainian News learned this from the State Statistics Service.
In private farms, the poultry population decreased by 9.6% or 10.099 million heads, and in specialised farms rose by 0.4% or 0.469 million heads.
In comparison with January 1, 2011, poultry population fell by 1.7% or 3.496 million heads.
In specialised farms, the poultry population decreased by 4.4% or 4.836 million heads, and in private farms increased by 1.4% or 1.34 million head.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in November, the poultry population fell by 3.96% or 8.655 million heads, compared with October, to 209.973 million heads as of December 1, 2011.
