Prominent fall in China lysine prices
Lysine prices fell significantly during the week ending February 26.
Feed demand was poor as livestock markets stayed weak while animal inventories remained at annual low levels. Producers who were facing mounting inventory pressure slashed prices in attempts to entice buyers.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine were the range of RMB7.90-8.25/kg.
Prices of lysine are expected to be weak even though a firmer soymeal market and a weaker renminbi will encourage buyers to make purchases.
