Building two dairy complexes for 3,000 heads each in Chernihiv region is Milkiland's plans in 2012, reads a statement made by the company.
The Group plans to build first phase of these complexes.
A spokesman for company has elucidated for Ukrainian News that equipment for these units, made by DeLaval (Sweden), has been already delivered to Ukraine. In his words, the milk herd stock will be grown as through breeding within the company itself, so as buying.
The statement notes, commissioning of these two husbandries will enable the Group to reduce reliance on external supplies of milk for expense of increasing the portion of own production to 6% or 7% from 2% (11,000 tonnes) in 2011.
The Group remarks, that growth will ensure even higher return, as the expenses on own-production milk are 50% lower than purchase from the populations' husbandries; moreover, this will make it possible to enhance quality of the products.
Milkiland also recalls, at the moment it delivers raw stuff for productions from 16 cooperatives in 12 regions; in 2011 the stock was standing at 21,000 heads, the share of supplied raw materials in the total amount was 6% (18% in December); and for 2012 they plan is to augment it up to 20%.
The Group provides veterinary services, nutrition, financial aid and training to its members, which facilitates achieving cows' higher production rate and improving milk quality.
As Ukrainian News reported, in late 2011 Milkiland raised a syndicated loan of US$100 million. The company finished 2011 with EBITDA of EUR35 million (US$47 million).
Milkiland finished 2010 with a net profit of EUR22 million (US$29.5 million), and its consolidated revenues went up by 29% or EUR58.5 million (US$78.6 million) to EUR258.5 million (US$347.2 million), comparing with 2009.
Milkiland's subsidiary Milkiland Ukraine runs its assets in Ukraine, uniting 10 manufacturing enterprises. In Russia the company runs the Ostankino Dairy Combine (Moscow).
Milkiland's processing capacities total more than one million tonnes a year.
