Bershad poultry plant cuts 2010 output to 10,087 tonnes

 

 

The Bershad poultry plant in Floryne, Bershad district, Vinnytsia region decreased its 2010 production by 0.3% or 34 tonnes against 2009 to 10,087 tonnes.

 

In particular, the enterprise reduced meat production by 0.8% or 81 tonnes in 2010, compared with 2009, to 9,871 tonnes, production of sausages grew by 19.1% or 9 tonnes to 56 tonnes, canned goods by 39.3% or 11 tonnes to 39 tonnes, meat semi-finished products by 28.7% or 27 tonnes to 121 tonnes.

 

According to the representative, the production growth was caused by an increase of forages prime cost and a price rise of the plant's produce.

 

Earlier, Bershad poultry plant finished 2009 with a net profit of UAH7.661 million (US$964,862) and reduced production by 5.9% or 631 tonnes to 10,121 tonnes, as compared with 2008.

 

The enterprise is an open joint-stock company founded in 1976. It specialises in poultry growing and processing of broiler meat. It also has a retail sales department.

 

Board chairman Ivan Andrushko and his relatives own 76.4716% of the company shares.
