Argentina's January poultry exports up 37 percent on-year, value near double
Argentina shipped 14,173 tonnes of poultry products in January, up 37 percent from the same month a year earlier, the animal and food-inspection agency, Senasa, reported Wednesday ( Feb 28, 2008).
The value of fresh and processed poultry and subproducts totaled US$20.7 million, up 92 percent on the year, according to Senasa.
Chile and South Africa were the main markets for Argentina's fresh poultry shipments in January. China and Hong Kong were the leading buyers of subproducts, while Germany and Holland purchased most of the processed poultry shipped in January.
