Australia exports first cattle shipments to Taiwan
Australian dairy farmers have successfully exported the first shipment of more than 200 Jersey cattle to Taiwan.
Taiwan banned dairy cattle imports from Australia for 20 years but has opened its doors under a free trade agreement.
The exported cattle included high-value breeding stock from north east Victoria.
Spokesman for Austrade in Taiwan Jeff Turner said demand for dairy food and quality breeding stock in Asia is increasing rapidly and this can open more opportunities for Australia cattle exports.
