Argentina's January soy industry stocks up 4.6 percent from year ago
Argentina's oilseed industry held soybean stocks totalling 1,653,560 tonnes as of Jan 1, according to the Agriculture Secretariat.
That puts stocks up 4.6 percent from the same month a year earlier, when they totalled 1,580,846 tonnes.
Soyoil stocks totalled 217,578 tonnes as of Jan 1, down 9 percent from the 239,000 tonnes in stock the previous year.
Stocks of soy pellets amounted to 661,363 tonnes, down 1.8 percent from 673,220 tonnes a year ago.
Argentina produced a record 41.3 million tonnes of soy in 2005/06, compared with 39 million tonnes a year earlier, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
Argentina is the world's leading soyoil and soymeal exporter.
The following tables show Argentina's monthly soy stocks as measured in tonnes. The data refer to stocks held by the crushing industry and do not include unsold material held by farmers.
