No bird flu outbreaks reported in 14 Vietnamese provinces for three weeks
14 out of the 35 affected provinces and cities in Vietnam did not report any new bird flu outbreaks for three weeks, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD)'s Veterinary Department on Feb. 26.
The provinces and cities include Kien Giang, Ninh Binh, Ha Nam, Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Quang Binh, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Dong Nai, Tien Giang, Phu Tho and Thai Binh provinces, and Ha Noi and HCMC.
However, 11 new infected spots were discovered at poultry farms in nine communes of eight districts of the Mekong delta provinces of Bac Lieu, Long An, Dong Thap, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh on Feb. 25.
By the end of the day, almost 5,990 ducks and geese had been culled.
