Pakistan's poultry exports to UAE may resume soon
The United Arab Emirates' (UAE) ban on Pakistan's poultry products is expected to be lifted in the short term.
The ban was placed in 2005 and has since resulted in a loss worth US$500 million, Javed Jalil Khattak, Consul General of Pakistan, said at a press gathering, held at the residence of the Consul General in Dubai.
"We are just waiting for the approval from the UAE authorities to issue the certificate," Khattak said.
He pointed out that the lifting of the ban will result in poultry exports to touch US$200 million a year.
