South Africa to see 12.35 million tonnes in corn harvest

South Africa is expected to harvest 12.35 million tonnes of corn in 2013, according to a government agency.

The corn crop will consist of an estimated 6.75 million tonnes of white corn and 5.6 million tonnes of yellow, the government's Crop Estimates Committee (CEC) said.

The harvest estimate was largely in line with market expectations of 12.34 million tonnes.

The committee said its estimate of the 2012 wheat crop was unchanged at 1.915 million tonnes.
