South Korea's Kocopia purchases Hamburg-based Toepfer's corn
For arrival by May 30, about 55,000 tonnes of likely European origin food-grade corn from Hamburg-based Alfred C. Toepfer International GmbH have been bought Friday (Feb 24) by the Korea Corn Processing Industry Association, or Kocopia, at US$309.85/tonne, cost and freight, trading executives said.
The price includes unloading part of the cargo at a second port.
Kocopia's purchase cost is up 7.8% from its purchase in late December.
In its tender on December 21, it had purchased optional origin corn from Marubeni at US$287.50/tonne, C&F, for arrival by May 10.
South Korea has purchased several cargoes totalling almost 1.1 million tonnes corn since January 6 but most of it is of animal-feed grade.
