Perdigao reports 174-percent increase of 2007 profits

 

 

Brazilian meatpacker Perdigao S.A. announced on Monday (February 25, 2008) that its fiscal 2007 profit is about US$188.4 million, a 174-percent increase from 2006.

 

Good performance in domestic and export markets, increased productivity and increased sales of process products has contributed to the company's good results.

 

Gross sales is up 27.6 percent to US$4.6 billion, while net sales is up 27.3 percent to US$3.9 billion.

 

Exports accounted for about 47.5 percent of net sales, according to Perdigao.

 

Export revenues have increased by 30 percent. Meat exports have increased by 18.6 percent, while processed products increased by 67.3 percent.
