BASF raises prices of formic acid in the Asia Pacific region
Press Release
BASF is raising its prices for formic acid in the Asia Pacific region by US$80 per tonne.
The price increase is due to elevated operating costs, particularly in raw materials, energy and freight.
Formic acid helps to keep certain feeds fresh and free of salmonellae.
Formic acid salts, the so-called formates, serve as high-class de-icing agents and valuable auxiliaries in oil production. BASF is the world's leading producer of formic acid, with production plants at its integrated Verbund sites in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Nanjing, China.
