Marine Harvest plans to develop large-scale salmon farm in Scotland
Marine Harvest is planning to develop a salmon farm in Arran, Scotland, which could be one of the largest in Scotland if the plans are given the nod.
Marine Harvest is planning application, which would go before the North Ayrshire Council on March 4, 2008.
The fish farm will measure 1,000 metres long and 700 metres wide, with an average depth of 29 metres, according to the Community of Arran Seabed Trust (COAST).
The fish farm would contain about 800,000 fish, which would be fed with over 5,000 tonnes of feed, COAST added.
