Chicken Prices in Malaysia Up

 

Chickens prices in Malaysia have went up 30-40 sen (Malaysian cents), according to the Federation of Livestock Farmers' Associations.

 

Wholesale dressed chicken and dressed chicken with shank, head, liver and gizzard will be Ringitt (RM) 4.10 per kg and RM4.70 per kg respectively, both up by 35 sen.

 

Dressed chicken without shank, head, liver and gizzard will be RM5.25 per kg, up 40 sen from RM4.85.

 

Farm chicken will increase by 30 sen from its Tuesday price of RM2.60 to RM2.90 per kg.

 

Wholesale chicken will be RM3.40 per kg, an increase of 30 sen from RM3.10 and live chicken will be RM3.90 per kg, up 30 sen.

 

Meanwhile, the Veterinary Services Department reports that to date, no cases of the highly pathogenic avian influenza has been detected in the country.

 

In a statement yesterday, the department said it had so far inspected 7,998 farms and premises.
