Colombia considering corn import tariff cut
Colombia may reduce corn import tariffs to boost feed supplies for its domestic livestock producers.
Agriculture Minister Andres Fernandez said his ministry recommended the move but everything is decided through the Finance Ministry.
Colombia is the sixth-largest market for US corn, with the country importing about 3.16 million tonnes of US corn last year. Colombia so far has bought 1.09 million tonnes of corn, down from the 1.99 million tonnes purchased at the same time last year.
