Pork Farms implementing ERP system

Pork Farms is implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system tailored for the food and beverage industry to improve business processes at a lower cost of ownership.

The company wants to increase operation efficiency by maximising production through monitoring costs and maintaining detailed traceability for its supply chain.

The system will be easy and fast to implement as it is developed for the food and beverage industry.

The company will benefit from maximum usage and a lowered ownership cost by reducing implementation time by more than 50 percent, said Alan Webster, chief information officer at Pork Farms.

This would also mean saving costs in consultancy fees, faster investment returns and reduced risk, Webster added.

The system is scheduled to go live in May 2008.

Pork Farms produces about 3 million pastry products, which are made of pork, chicken and beef, each week.
