Brazilian meatpacker to invest US$468.7 million in operations
Brazilian meatpacker company Perdigao plans to invest US$468.7 million in 2008 to increase milk and dairy production, according to investor relations director Wang Weichang on Monday.
The investment will develop a plant in Pernambuco, and two distribution centres in Sao Paulo and Rio Verde. Pork capacity in Rio Verde's centre will be doubled and new equipment will be purchased as well.
The investment will also be used for logistical fine-tuning.
