Korean sees 35% rise in pork imports during Jan 2013
 

 

Korea's pork imports have risen by about 35% in January 2013 from the previous month.

 

According to data from the Animal, Plant and Fisheries Quarantine and Inspection Agency, the country's pork imports amounted to about 27,000 tonnes in January, up 34.7% from December 2012. Compared with a year ago, pork imports rose 5.3% in January.

 

Nearly 60%, or 15,000 tonnes, of the pork imported in January came from the US.
