China Egg Fortnightly Report: Prices stable, to remain firm in near term (Feb 18, 2005)
An eFeedLink Exclusive Report
Egg prices in China remained stable during the Spring Festival period. The early production of food products for the Spring Festival in mid- to end-January had resulted in a rise in egg demand, leading to prices moving up.
Procurement activities traditionally peak on the eve of the Spring Festival, with ample supply and demand in the egg market. However, prices were generally stable due to preventive measures taken by the Chinese government.
With adequate supply in the market, analysts expect egg prices in China to remain stable in the near term.
