Slow feed demand limits sulphate additives sales in China

Cupric sulphate

A shrinking hog inventory decimated the demand for cupric sulphate, holding prices flat in conjunction with cautious mood of feed millers while disease remained rampant.

As of February 20, prices of cupric sulphate remained in the range of RMB13,700-13,800/tonne.

Sales are poised to be weak as livestock producers suffer severe losses.

Zinc sulphate

With ingredients cost on the rise and environmental expenses increasing, zinc sulphate producers held prices firm during the period in review.

Feed millers will likely limit buying in the coming weeks as feed consumption stays limited.

Manganese sulphate

Prices of manganese sulphate inched higher on the back of rising costs of manganese ore, which supplies were tight.

Manganese sulphate prices are expected to stand firm.

Ferrous sulphate

Demand for ferrous sulphate was slack as buyers maintained low stocks while livestock feed consumption was slow. Producers held prices unchanged as titanium dioxide market stayed weak.

Ferrous sulphate prices should stay around current levels amid poor buying interest.
